# xai/video (xAI Grok Video Generation)

You can run this example with:

This example demonstrates video generation using xAI's Grok Imagine API.

## Models

| Provider ID                        | Price per second |

| `xai:video:grok-imagine-video`     | $0.050           |
| `xai:video:grok-imagine-video-1.5` | $0.080           |

`grok-imagine-video-1.5` is the latest video model. Its `grok-imagine-video-1.5-preview` and `grok-imagine-video-1.5-2026-05-30` aliases resolve to the same model and are billed at the same rate.

## Setup

1. Set your xAI API key:

export XAI_API_KEY=your_api_key_here
```

2. Run the evaluation:

```

## Configuration Options

## Advanced Features

### Image-to-Video

Animate a static image:

### Video Editing

Edit an existing video:

```yaml

  - id: xai:video:grok-imagine-video
    config:

### Reference-to-Video

Guide the generated video with up to seven reference images:

```yaml
providers:
  - id: xai:video:grok-imagine-video
    config:
      reference_images:
        - url: 'https://example.com/person.jpg'
        - url: 'https://example.com/shirt.jpg'
      duration: 10
```

`reference_images` cannot be combined with `image` or `video`, and reference-guided videos are limited to 10 seconds.

Grok Imagine Video 1.5 also supports reference-to-video with up to seven images and three preset
voices. Its reference-to-video duration can be up to 15 seconds and its resolution is capped at
720p:

```yaml
providers:
  - id: xai:video:grok-imagine-video-1.5
    config:
      reference_images:
        - url: 'https://example.com/person.jpg'
      reference_audios:
        - voice_id: 'eve'
      duration: 15
      resolution: '720p'
```

Preset voices are generally available. Uploaded audio references are restricted to trusted partners
in the United States.
